It's been our second Confined Cookalong, indeed some people are still cooking as I type...(and then I got distracted and didn't post - I think everyone is done by 11pm, thank goodness) At least 70% risottos, plus the odd korma and Korean pancake for variety. And it all ran into Confined Cocktails a bit, which confused me if no one else. There was squash and cheddar and leeks and fennel, and Francesca reminded us that mantecatura is the word for finishing off your risotto if you're doing it properly, and several people who haven't joined in the hashtag before did, and...
Well, my heart grew three sizes and it was a very cheering Saturday. Thank you all. I snuck off from twitter for 5 minutes to make myself a trad rum punch as sort of pudding.
It involved cold-brew tea, about which I am Unconvinced. But cocktail hour is also a thing of joy, and something I can actually mess around with for fun amidst all of this. So why not, really?
I got myself embrangled during all the cookalong stuff, and suggested that 28 November is the date for our next cookalong - the festive goodies one. It wasn't meant to be (though it definitely *is* the date for our first #ConfinedCocktails dedicated to festive boozing), but we can do a cookalong too if you'd like? Let me know. We definitely will at some point. And this month I am quite literally at your disposal, given bugger all else to do these days...
