Hi, my dear blog mates!
I'm back after a long time. But it was July and it is August. And July and August are summer. And summer is going out, dinners with friends, finding refreshment. And above all summer is hot. Too much hot!! And hot is inversely proportional to my will of cooking. So I haven't posted for a while.
I and Sorriso the Turtle have left town and run away to countryside (the possibility to work everywhere is one of the positive aspect of working from home).
Summer plus countryside plus parents are fresh veggies from my dad's garden well cooked by mum.

Harvest (the only one I helped to pick up): tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines, (hidden) beans |
Here are recipes by last weeks.
First: fried zucchini blossoms stuffed with anchovies and mozzarella. When they're done, make pastella. Put flour, salt and sparkling water in a bowl and beat. Dip the blossoms into the pastella and fry in hot oil. There's no photo of fried blossoms: they're too good and had to be eaten immediately.
Second one: chicken meatballs with very light green peppers. Blend ground breast chicken, breadcrumbs, stracchino cheese and lemon zests, make little meatballs and fry. Pan fry peppers and serve.
Last photo: cherry tomatoes, versatile vegetables, suitable for all you want. But when they're organic (like my dad's ones) I like the most eating them as really cherries: one after the other. You can taste the warm of summer.
Summer is hot but it’s sweet.
This all looks so good! Even the best tomatoes over here do not taste as good as Italian ones.
ReplyDeleteI do know what you mean - summer is not really cooking time. But your cooking does look very delicious!
