Your top 10 cocktails

Here we go, the results are in. The official Confined Kitchen top cocktail is....

1. The bellini! As nominated by Ruth, I think, as an afterthought. But apparently on average, we all love a bellini. And I'm delighted, cos it's the subject of one of the best Confined Kitchen tips we had early on: the use of baby food peach puree as a base. Can confirm this is delicious, while feeling very weird.

The rest of your top 10 official fave cocktails are:
2. Margarita, nominated by Liz - I'm aware of the popularity, but I have some historic tequila issues that make me glad it wasn't the winner...
3. Bramble, nominated by Helen - which edged it by one point over the
4. Caipirinha, nominated by Sara, again as an afterthought - but with much success among the voters
5. French 75 - by far the most popular of those I've never tried on the list, also nominated by Ruth, and by Isabella in variant versions involving lilac and honeysuckle, all of which sound cracking
6. Dark and Stormy - nominated by Avril, and high on my own list. Much higher ranked than the Moscow Mule, which doesn't figure here.
7. Manhattan - nominated by Patricia, and the first of our sweet vermouth cocktails, followed smartly by...
8. Negroni - which was nominated by three people (Kate was first) and yet had a vocal set of opponents and turned out a lot lower than I'd have expected based on initial discussions.
9. Pornstar Martini - nominated by Catherine, and slightly too delicious to be ashamed of. We had three martinis nominated, and all were here or hereabouts.
And our final finalist is the:
10. Espresso Martini - nominated by Anne-Marie, which was only a couple of points behind its passion fruit variant, and a welcome vote for the non-fruity end of the cocktail options.

The voters have spoken. I disagree wildly, but that's democracy for you... Thanks all, we have passed a quarter of a year in confinement, and it's been a genuine pleasure. Happy solstice to you.
